A bridge has crossed here since Roman times, and the current structure keeps the line and some of the fabric while having been rebuilt repeatedly over two thousand years. It is pedestrian now, which is what makes it usable.
⭐ Walk it away from the city first, then turn around. The view back — the bridge, the Guadalquivir, the Mezquita's bulk behind it — is the picture of Córdoba, and it is free.
The mills in the river below are medieval in origin and used the current to grind grain. They are ruins now and are best seen from the bridge itself.
