Worth knowing

The baths served the caliphal alcázar and follow the Roman sequence of cold, warm and hot rooms adapted to Islamic practice. They were excavated under the Campo Santo de los Mártires and are entered below ground level.

⭐ The star-shaped vents in the vaults are the detail worth going for — daylight comes through them in points onto the brick and the columns.

It is a small site and does not take long. It pairs naturally with the Alcázar across the square.

Our tip

Combine it with the Alcázar — they are a minute apart and cover the same ground historically.
