The tower is octagonal, joined to the city wall by an arch that crosses the street, and it sits well outside the tourist circuit at the northern edge of the old city.
Its name has attracted a legend about a murdered wife, repeated in every guide including this sentence. ⚠️ There is no evidence for it, and the more likely explanation is duller.
⭐ It is worth the walk if you want to see where the old city ended, and the route out passes the Cristo de los Faroles.
