The Corredera is 17th-century and closed on all four sides — a plaza mayor of the kind common in Castile and rare in Andalusia. It has been a market, a bullring and a public space, sometimes at once.
⭐ The market underneath and the bars around the arcade make it one of the few places in the old city that is busy with people who live here rather than people visiting.
It is plainer than the lanes around the Mezquita and that is the appeal — it is a working square rather than a monument.
